Anacapa cliff through kelp

One of my favorite dive areas on a clear, calm day is near San Pedro Point on Santa Cruz Island. As in many areas of the islands, sheer cliffs plunge into shallow waters that often include beds of giant kelp, Macrocystis pyrifera. While my camera is limited by its 60mm close-up lens, Scott’s new camera has the ability to take close-ups as well as wide angle and he captured this memorable shot of the cliffs as seen from beneath the kelp forest canopy.
