Threespot flounder - Samariscus triocellatus

Surge channels are often home to this tiny flounder species, Samariscus triocellatus, which is seldom noticed as it blends in so well with the sandy areas it lives on. Only 20mm long, this one was spotted on a small rock, waving his flag shaped dorsal spine as he slowly moved over the terrain.
