Mantis shrimp - Pseudosquilla ciliata

Another wonderful and whimsical stomatopod, Pseudosquilla ciliata was good sized at 70mm. This species is in the group of "smashing mantis shrimp" who strike their prey with hammer like claws, which are tucked beneath him in this photo.
