Crown-of-thorns seastar - Acanthaster planci

Known as a "voracious predator" of coral, the crown-of-thorns seastar is often found in varying shades of dark orange and green although this one had more subtle shades. They are actually quite attractive as long as you don't touch them. Acanthaster planci was easily 40cm in diameter.
