We have only recently been finding specimens of this adult boxfish, Ostracion cubicus (20cm), in flat, open areas and staying unusually motionless. Our previous sightings have usually been at a distance but on several different occasions lately, they seemed almost confused or perhaps bemused by our interest. Maybe it had to do with something they ate.
