Foraminifera

Beginning as a small flat round disk, this delicate foram species forms a ruffled edge as it grows. Another tiny foram species looking much like a tiny brown seed sits atop, off to the left and another small white foram surrounded by a spiky edge can be seen at the bottom left. Not quite animals or plants, Forams are Protozoans, related to single-celled organisms like amoeba. Forams are curious creatures abundant in the algae. 10mm
