Foraminifera

Forams are often seen in the algae, beginning as small flat disks with some developing more ruffled edges as they mature. Five or six of the large ruffled ones (10mm) caught my attention on this day as they were surrounded by an unusual number of tiny disks adhering to adjacent algae suggesting some sort of reproductive budding.
