Squarespot anthias - Pseudanthias pleurotaenia

This beautiful Anthias species lives along the deeper reef slopes often in groups of a dozen or more individuals. The females are a beautiful shade of yellow but the larger one in this photo is in the process of changing into a male and will eventually become mostly purple with a prominent square magenta spot on each side.
