Unusual as it is to see this basketstar during the day, its mass of root-like tentacles makes it unmistakable. Astroboa nuda is a long-armed basketstar that emerges only at night, unfurling long complex arms over half a meter long to form huge "radar-like" disks that face into the current, scooping up passing food particles.
