Eyed cowry - Cypraea (Lyncina) argus

Cypraea argus is a distinctive cowry aptly named the eyed cowry, and there are several size variations. Not distinguishable from a photo, this is one of the more infrequent large and wide shells. At around 70mm, it was unusually active for having been found during the day and obligingly put up its thin mantle as it crawled into a small cave.
