Hairy shrimp - Phycocaris simulans

One of the most difficult species of shrimp to photograph is this very tiny hairy shrimp, Phycocaris simulans, whose name is a lot longer than the shrimp! Less than 5mm and covered with thin filaments, it comes in a number of colors, making it nearly invisible until it moves. Even then, it is a challenge to focus on. If you look closely, it is bearing a cluster of eggs.
