Mantis shrimp - Lysiosquilla sp.

A pure white mantis shrimp (Lysiosquilla sp.) with head emerging from its burrow. The two black dots in its eye are part of a very complex vision system. Research has revealed their compound eyes contain more photoreceptor types than any other animal described. 1 inch in diameter (2.5 cm)
