Vampire triggerfish - Odonus niger

There were literally hundreds of these small triggerfish, Odonus niger, both high in the water column feeding on plankton and also near the bottom quick to take cover in small holes in the reef. Also called vampire or red tooth triggers, they have two long red cuspid-like teeth. This was a juvenile at about 3 inches (8cm).
