Bluefin trevally - Caranx melampygus

This large Ulua, Caranx melampygus, was behaving in a very unusual manner as he repeatedly circled a small coral outcrop at the edge of the drop-off for well over 20 minutes. There must have been something interesting hiding in the crevices but nothing obvious to me. He was by himself and probably 24 inches long (61cm).
