Nudibranch - Marionia cf rubra

A favorite nighttime find was this unusually large species of Marionia. This group is known to feed on soft corals although this one, looking like a ruffled clump of algae when viewed from the top, was found along the drop-off edge. Several species of soft coral were in the vicinity and it was probably on his way to one of them. The animal stretched out to almost 3 inches.
