Umbrella slug - Umbrachulum umbrachulum

Only the second we have seen at Kwajalein, this is Umbraculum umbraculum, commonly called the "umbrella slug." With its thin flat shell firmly situated on top of its broad foot, it is a most unusual mollusk that can reach nearly 5 inches in some Pacific areas and feeds on sponges. This one was found in a shallow reef quarry.
