Round crab - Carpilus convexus

Almost comic except for the sad outcome for the little conch, this large crab with its strong claws, was in the process of "peeling" back the shell to make a meal of Strombus luhuanus whose one eye seemed to express its alarm. The shells are better known as "blood-mouth conchs" and are found by the hundreds in numerous shallow sandy areas.
