Apple tun shell - Malea pomum

At the very end of our 2nd night dive and directly under the boat, this Malea pomum was found laying a large flat mass of eggs and thus solving a mystery that had puzzled us for years. We had never known until then exactly which animal was responsible for laying the wide, pliable sheets of pink centered egg capsules we often see affixed to the bases of algae. It made for a memorable and satisfying "caught in the act" moment.
