JJ's Recent Photos - 16 August 2016

The oceanside areas of the East Reef are nearly always inaccessible during the year due to prevailing winds and strong northeasterly swells. Although calm on this day, even a slight swell made diving the shallow "spurs" a challenge and definitely not a dive for the inexperienced. Although rich with new discoveries, diving the shallow spurs was short lived for me as I retreated back to deeper water (30 ft - 9m) where an abundance of hardy marine life remarkably survives.
