Algae - Caulerpa cupressoides

Shallow sandy areas had been stripped down to bare rubble but towards the deeper edge, hardy Caulerpa algae was beginning to make a comeback. This type of "running" algae anchors itself in the sand where each tuft is formed. Each of these segments were several feet in length.
