Colonial tunicate

A stunning group of animals with astonishing detail are flat, encrusting Tunicate colonies found on many types of surfaces and growing in rows or as large mat-like patches often on the undersides of rocks. A close-up of the end of this row shows a complex growth system surrounding the clusters of petal-like zooids.
