Commonly known at the Clandestine triton and previously described as Cymatium clandestinum, this distinctive shell is often difficult to recognize due to its unusual long paddles of soft periostracum that can give it a fuzzy appearance, sometimes concealing the shell completely. Often, a smaller male can been seen clinging to a larger female as in this photo. Galegna succincta, 2 inches (50mm)
