The sandy areas we often dive are excellent places to find the small flamboyant cuttlefish, Metasepia pfefferi. This one was around 2 inches in length (50mm) and just beginning to display its "flamboyant" behavior, which is believed to be used as a sign of its toxicity in warding off potential predators.
