Finally, this large ovulid, Volva volva was found on a small clump of Dendronephthya soft coral which it feeds upon. Small clumps of soft coral not much bigger than this are common in the flat sandy areas that have been scoured during the Monsoon season. The shell appeared to have been in the process of attaching a cluster of eggs to what remained of the coral. The shell was around 2.5 inches (60mm)
