Schools of large (24 inch) bottom feeding mullet commonly pass close to divers in the shallows, and one school was accompanied by several small remoras, Echeneis naucrates. What was unusual about this photo is that the sucker fish was attached to the top of the fish rather than underneath and gives the appearance of being attached by its chin rather than the top of its head where its attachment disk is. This “upside-down” disorientation made me realize how unexpectedly equally proportioned they are!
