About the Authors

Scott and Jeanette Johnson lived in the Marshalls much of their lives. Both spent several long tours working as contractors on the US army base at Kwajalein Atoll, where they first took up diving and underwater photography in the late '60s and early '70s. Scott also worked more than two years on the staff of the now defunct Mid-Pacific Research Laboratory at Enewetak Atoll, where he focused on the study of nudibranchs. At Kwajalein, they are under the water as much as possible. Jeanette shoots stills, currently with a Nikon D7000 in a Subal housing. Scott set aside his battered old Nikonos in 1994 and switched to video with various cameras in Light & Motion housings, then went back to stills in 2018 with an Olympus E-M1 in a Nauticam housing. Although they relocated from the Marshalls to the US in 2017, they continue to add to the website and can be reached at uwkwaj@yahoo.com.
