These Acanthosepion species are tentatively identified as A. esculentum based on the figures in Humann & DeLoach (2010). Like many cuttlefish, this species can change color and texture very quickly, and it is possible that multiple species are figured below. iNaturalist figures animals that look like ours as both Acanthosepion esculentum and A. pharaonis. Ours were found at muck sites around Tulamben, Amed, Puri Jati and Gilimanuk.
