Ascarosepion latimanus (Quoy
& Gaimard, 1832)
Broadclub cuttlefish
A common and variable cuttlefish
on muck sites is Ascarosepion latimanus. This species usually has yellow
around the eye and often has a blue spotted fin rim. However, it is extremely
variable and we sometimes find it hard to distinguish some variations from species
of Acanthosepion. It is possible not all those figured below are the
same species.

The next two kind of resemble some
of those we are calling Acanthosepion
cf esculentum.

The one below seems to have more
stellate papillae, suggesting it could be an Acanthosepion sp.
