Euprymna berryi Sasaki,
1929
Bobtail squid or Berry's bobtail
These were relatively common at
night on muck sites at Tulamben and Amed. The first two show quite different
looking animals. Both have been identified on iNaturalist as E. berryi,
but it may be there are two species using that name. When approached with a
light, the Bobtail will usually bury itself in the sand, stretching out a couple
of its arms to sweep sand over itself, usually leaving just the eyes visible.

It often comes out of the sand
still covered with sand grains.

With a captured shrimp.
