Ovatipsa chinensis (Gmelin, 1791)
Chinese cowry, 40mm

Three were seen at night at Melasti.

With an egg mass.

The next two were at Padangbai at night.

A young shell found at Melasti.

In November, 2023, O. chinensis was one of the most common cowries seen, mostly young specimens at Sidem.

This adult was exposed on the bottom near shore at Seraya. I slipped it back under a rock where it would normally hide during the day.
