Antennarius randalli Allen, 1970
Randall's frogfish, 8.0cm

The body of Antennarius randalli is more laterally flattened than most other frogfish species, giving them a narrower appearance when viewed head on or from the top. Like most other frogfish, these also vary in color, but all the various color forms seem to have a variable sized white dot or patch anterior to and above the pectoral fin base, another smaller one right behind the eye and a third just below the origin of the soft dorsal fin. We saw these at a number of sites in the Tulamben area.
