Chicomurex laciniatus
(Sowerby, 1841)
40mm
A young Chicomurex laciniatus
was crawling on an egg mass (of Cymbiola vespertilio?) at the River
in Tulamben Bay.

Many murexes aggregate to mate
and lay their egg capsules together in a large mass, usually on the undersurface
of a rock but sometimes on each other's shells.
