The best pier in the atoll was not at the main island of Enewetak but at Medren, two islands up the east reef next to the deep water pass. The pilings under this pier were a great place to see various nudibranchs. A summer storm in July, 1982, washed them all away, but they were starting to build up again by the turn of the year.
