Ardea coromanda (Boddaert, 1783)
Eastern cattle egret

These photos are from Christina Sylvester, who reported Ardea coromanda as a frequently sighted species at Kwajalein in 2023 with as many as nine birds sighted at once and with sightings at various sites around the island. It was and still sometimes is considered a subspecies of the Western cattle egret, Ardea ibis. Cattle egrets were listed by Clapp (1990) as "rare vagrants" to the atoll, and the Avibase checklist for the Marshalls lists Bubulcus coromandus.
