Puffinus pacificus (Gmelin, 1789)
Wedge-tailed Shearwater
Marshallese: "mãntõl"

The Wedge-tailed Shearwater is considered to be an uncommon offshore visitor. One was photographed by David Greene on Kwajalein. The bird appeared to be taking a rest on land but later was gone, probably heading back out to sea to continue feeding. Some sites call this the Christmas Shearwater.

Another was spotted by Christina Sylvester in a feeding bird pile just outside the atoll.
