Tringa incana (Gmelin, 1789)
Wandering Tattler
Marshallese: "kidid"

The Wandering Tattler is a common migrant during the winter at Kwajalein, usually found along the shores and on the intertidal reef. A few individuals remain throughout the year. The first two photos show the bird in non-breeding plumage.

The next two show the breeding plumage.

After a heavy rainstorm, a normally dry trench along the runway fills with water, attracting a number of birds, including Tattlers.

This one is eating a small octopus captured on the intertidal reef.
