Several specimens were found at Tulamben.
A squat lobster hitches a ride.
The next photo shows a young individual, much smaller than the others.
Mouth extended to graze on a mostly hidden sponge.
The one in the two photos below from Batuniti was a bit unusual in that it lacked the white spots densely covering the wide middorsal orange band.
This appears to be a young specimen from Pura Gerombong.
We are calling the one below Goniobranchus cf collingwoodi. While it is similar to typical G. collingwoodi in its bluish purple margin, yellow-orange submarginal spots and wide orange-brown dorsum, it also has maroon blotches scattered in the dorsal area. The single specimen we saw was at least twice the size of the G. collingwoodi I've seen, which may account for the unusual dorsal maroon blotches, which are a bit similar to the dorsal purple patches of juvenile G. collingwoodi. Gosliner et al (2018) currently consider this to possibly be a separate species that they refer to as Glossodoris sp. 35.
