Jorunna funebris (Kelaart, 1858)
50mm

We saw these at various sites around Tulamben.

This larger specimen was exposed in the shallows feeding on sand-covered blue sponge.

Also feeding on its prey sponge.

A juvenile on its prey sponge.

One night a dromiid crab was found carrying a Jorunna funebris instead of its usual chunk of sponge. The nudibranch would try to reach out to grab the bottom to try to crawl away, but the crab would scurry along, preventing the slug from getting a grip.
