Hexabranchus sanguineus (Rüppell & Leuckart, 1828)

We saw about four large and one smaller Hexabranchus sanguineus on night dives in the Tulamben area. Three of the individuals were on the Liberty wreck. In addition, there were several egg masses exposed on rocks in the area.

This mating pair has a commensal shrimp, Periclimenes imperator.

This commensal Periclimenes imperator was on another Hexabranchus, and matched the nudibranch's coloration very closely.

Egg mass.
