Hexabranchus lacer (Cuvier, 1804)

We saw several Hexabranchus lacer on night dives in the Tulamben and Padangbai areas. Three of the individuals were on the Liberty wreck. In addition, there were several egg masses exposed on rocks in the area.

One from Padangbai.

A commensal Zenopontonia rex shrimp on the Padangbai nudibranch.

Juveniles.

Older juveniles.

This mating pair has a commensal shrimp, Zenopontonia rex.

This commensal Zenopontonia rex was on another Hexabranchus, and matched the nudibranch's coloration very closely.
