Trapania vitta Gosliner & Fahey, 2008
10mm

One particular area at Tulamben near Paradise reef yielded a number of species of Trapania, including several specimens of this one. Trapania vitta is very similar in outer appearance to T. aurata, differing in the orange pigment on the extrarhinophoral and extrabranchial processes of the latter. One of the specimens we saw, the one in the first photo below, did have some orange on its left extrabranchial process, but the right one and both by the rhinophores were all white. All other specimens we saw had all white processes.

This one was found at Baturinggit.
