Cratena sp. e112
8mm

These photos appear to show the animal figured in Gosliner et al (2018) as Cratena sp. 5. We have seen numerous specimens on Enewetak and Kwajalein Atoll lagoon and pinnacle reefs and on the seaward reef flat, under rocks or exposed at depths of 5 to 10 meters. Ken Cone and Beth Van Zummeren found it at Rongelap and Majuro. Specimens ranged in length from 3 to 8mm. The first shot below is from Enewetak.

The 3mm long specimen in the photo immediately below was found on a Kwajalein Atoll eastern lagoon reef under dead coral at a depth of about 5m on 3 January 2009.

The photos below show a 5mm specimen found under a rock at a depth of 5m on Kwajalein Atoll's western lagoon reef on 4 January 2009.

What appears to be a tiny Aegires on the right side of the photo below was not noticed when the picture was taken.

This one is from a Kwajalein reef quarry, in a ledge at a depth of about 2m.

The one below was on the seaward reef on 17 October 2016.

Specimens photographed by Ken Cone are below, the first from Rongelap and the second from Majuro.
