Herviella sp. e931
6mm

This small eolid was found by John and Lynette Flynn at Majuro Atoll. In basic color pattern it resembles Herviella affinis from Japan and Herviella cloaca from east Africa. Another potentially similar species is H. evelinae described (as Muessa evelinae) from Ifaluk Atoll in the Caroline Islands by Marcus (1965); that species was reported to have annulate rhinophores and anterior tentacles, but it appears he was describing a preserved animal, and the annulations could have been a result of the animal contracting when placed in preservative.
