Right off Diamond Head is a small reef bench that uncovers at low tide. Follow Diamond Head Road out around the south side of the crater and short, narrow Beach Road drops off on the ocean (makai) side of the road. Parking along the road is limited and tight, but the reef and secluded beach are worth it. In the tide pools, you might see several species of Aplysia, along with a few other species. Two of the Micromelo undata I found in Hawaii were crawling on this bench in full daylight. This is also a good place for Chelidonura alisonae.
