Some distance off the southern portion of Makaha Beach on Oahu's west shore are some small ledges that run along at a depth of 15 to 20m and deeper. Along these ledges were usually piles of rocks and dead coral rubble. It was known to be a good place to see the endemic Hawaiian cowry Cypraea tessellata, but there were also nudibranchs. One of the more common sightings was the still undescribed Goniobranchus sp. h132.
