The family Cerithiopsidae is composed of small shells that superficially resemble members of the Triphoridae but have dextral rather than spiral coiling of the shell. Most of the shells were collected empty, mostly sorted from sediment samples, so the shells are often damaged. The small size--the single specimen of one species reaching only 1.6mm--strained the ability of our equipment to capture clear images. Most of our specimens are unidentified or only tentatively identified. We welcome corrections at uwkwaj@yahoo.com. (Click on a thumbnail for pages with larger images.)
