Vexillum cf recurvirostris (Sowerby, 1908)
13.0mm
In shell shape, this species is very close
to Vexillum recurvirostris,
and some refrences figure it under that name. We hesitate only because we have
seen many normal looking V. recurvirostris and they do not vary much.
It would seem odd, though of course not impossible, to have just one or two
out of the hundred or more we have seen be so different in color. So for the
present, we are keeping this separate. We do not have a photo of the living
animal.
