Vexillum diutenerum (Hervier,
1897)
7.0mm
Vexillum diutenerum is
rare at Kwajalein, known from a few specimens found in seaward reef caves at
night or sorted out of sand and rubble samples brought up from the seaward reef
slope at depths of 16 to at least 45m. The one figured was from a lagoon Halimeda
algae patch.
This one was exposed at night on the seaward reef.
The 6.9mm specimen below is an empty shell found in a sediment sample brought
up from about 64m on the seaward reef.
