This appears to be a color variation of the species
Vexillum luigiraybaudii
and is rare at Kwajalein, found primarily under rocks on pinnacles and seaward
reefs from 6 to about 20m. It may belong in the genus Protoelongata,
but an intact protoconch would be required to make that determination.
