Vexillum cf obeliscus (Reeve, 1844)
29.1mm
Vexillum cf obeliscus is uncommon at
Kwajalein and is found in lagoon sandy areas at depths of about 13 to 23m. Vexillum
obeliscus typically has a darker
colored shell. While it has been observed that the shells of some species
living in areas of nearly all white coral sand are lighter in color than their
counterparts from other areas, it is possible that the Marshall Islands variety
figured below may be a different species.
