Vexillum sanguisuga (Linnaeus, 1758)

Vexillum sanguisuga is moderately uncommon in lagoon areas of fine sand, usually at depths greater than 11m and extending down to at least 23m. This is the currently accepted spelling, although I'm not sure why the specific name ending (sanguisuga) does not match the gender of the genus, as do other species in Vexillum.
